It’s been another crazy week at Rodial HQ with the launch of our amazing new Diamond Concealers creating a huge beauty buzz.
To celebrate, we worked with the incredibly talented Pati DuBroff (I’m obsessed with her work) to host a makeup masterclass in front of the top beauty bloggers, influencers and journalists.
Over breakfast, Pati demonstrated how to get the perfect base using our Vit C Energising Sheet Mask to prep the skin then using our Skin Tint, Diamond Concealer and Banana Lowlighter. I loved how Pati worked so quickly creating a super easy day-to-day look, perfectly encapsulating the Rodial woman. We don’t have time to painstakingly create a full glam look everyday – trust me!
The Rodial Diamond Concealers are now available in Harvey Nichols and online, mine has become a firm staple in makeup bag.
I’m off to New York now so keep an eye out on my Insta to see what I’m up to…
The Kardashian’s are no strangers to Rodial after introducing them to the brand when Kylie was the first face of Nip+fab, so it was no surprise that Kim turned to us to prep her skin for one of the most sought after awards of the year.
On Monday night, Kim attended the CFDA awards in New York before picking up the first ever influencer of the year award. Sending my biggest congrats to Kim! Her makeup artist and friend of the brand, Mario Dedivanovic, explained why Rodial was his first choice to prep his famous friend…
The product breakdown…
For Mario’s ‘glowy goddess glam’ vision, he began prepping Kim’s skin by using our new and improved Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water. I love using this as a quick cleanse before applying makeup to really ensure there’s a clean base.
For extra hydration, he then applied our Vit C Energising Mask for 10 minutes for an instant glow. I have been using this mask 2-3 times per week and have seen such a difference in my skin. A mask is perfect to give your skin a quick boost before an event too!
To really intensify the brightening effect, Mario swept our Vit C Cleansing Pads across the skin. Double cleansing is key and these are perfect for me as I’m always super busy and these speed up my everyday routine.
Mario finished with our Rose Gold Moisturiser as a base for the foundation. One of our most luxe products, not only does this look great sitting in my on my beauty shelf, the rich formula gives an instant glow and deep hydration.
Stay up-to-date of all the looks I’m loving on my Instagram…
After months of anticipation the winner of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund was announced last week in an intimate event at The Mayfair Hotel. Congratulations Molly Goddard! Molly is such a talented designer and I can’t wait to see her next collection.
I have been so impressed with all of the designers throughout the competition and have really enjoyed being on the judging panel alongside Edward Enninful and Jourdan Dunn. I wore a dress by my good friend, and one of the six finalists, David Koma to the event. I love the details on this dress and mixed up my usual all black outfit with some colour.
After the announcement we headed to The Mandrake hotel for the after party. Rodial were supporting the event and had an area where guests could stop by to touch up their make-up and try out some of the Rodial range. It was great to see everyone excited about the products!
I am looking forward to continuing to work with the British Fashion Council, and Vogue, on their future projects. Keep an eye on my Instagram to see what I am up to!
I can’t believe it’s been a year since we launched Nip+Fab Make-up!
It’s been a great year for us and to celebrate we launched our newest products with an exciting masterclass from celebrity make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic. It was great to celebrate the anniversary with Mario one year on from our launch event with him and I always love the looks he creates!
Mario used our new products to create a stunning look on mega babe Chiara Sampaio in front of an exclusive audience at The Sanderson Hotel.
It was great to see everybody excited about the new products. After the masterclass I had a chance to catch-up and take some selfies with Mario. We met in New York four years ago and I love chatting to him about his own journey to where he is today.
I have another busy few weeks of travel coming up, don’t forget to check out my Instagram stories for all the behind the scenes action!
Over the past couple of months I have been taking part on the judging panel for the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund. This is such an exciting project and I have loved being involved! A couple of weeks ago I also invited the designers to the Rodial office where I met them individually and offered them mentoring advice. I love motivating young entrepreneurs and really enjoyed hearing about the plans they have for their businesses.
The judging panel are a really inspiring group of people and it was great to catch up with everyone including Caroline Rush, Edward Enninful and the gorgeous Jourdan Dunn.
After taking some pictures we went straight into the designer interviews. Each designer brought in models wearing pieces from their collection and talked us through them, afterwards the judging panel was opened up for questions. I was really impressed at how well all the designers responded to the questions under pressure!
The winner will be announced on 2nd May, keep an eye on my Instagram stories for all the outfits from the announcement party…
Last week I escaped the cold UK weather and flew to LA for an exciting few days full of meetings, catching up with friends and speaking at the Create & Cultivate conference. I have been travelling a lot lately and the support from my team and followers inspires me to keep going and pursue every opportunity!
I met up with my friend Brad Goreski whilst in LA, we caught up over lunch at Soho House West Hollywood. It’s always great to see him and hear about what he is getting up to!
On Thursday evening I travelled to Planet Beauty in Calabasas to hold a book signing for How to be an Overnight Success. I had my make-up done for the event by the gorgeous Joyce Bonelli, I love the work she does and was obsessed with the look she gave me using Rodial’s new icons palette. It was great to meet some of the people who have been inspired by my book and speak to them about pursuing their own dreams.
On Saturday I spoke at the Create & Cultivate conference. I was in great company as the other speakers included Kim Kardashian, Anine Bing and, speaking on my panel, the stunning Nina Dobrev. Our speaking panel was all about how we made our way in business, our experiences along the way, and advice for the audience. I loved this experience and being able to network with the other women on my panel and hear their stories.
I am back in London and working on some really cool product ideas with my team. Keep an eye on my Instagram so see what’s going on behind the scenes!
I have been so excited to share the news that I would be appearing as a guest mentor on Project Runway All Stars. The episode I feature in aired on Lifetime TV in the US on 1st February and is available on iTunes for US accounts. Rodial are the make-up partner of the whole season and I have always followed the show so this was a really fun and different experience for me!
At the beginning of the episode I gave each designer an envelope with a product or phrase that related to Rodial’s hero products. Their challenge was to create a high fashion look that celebrated a woman’s inner superhero and come up with a super power for her inspired by their Rodial product.
The designers only had one day to make their outfits so the pressure was on! I visited them in the workroom to see how they were getting on, I love mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs so enjoyed seeing their work and giving my feedback. Seeing their interpretations was also really inspiring, it’s always great to see a fresh perspective on our products.
Once the designers had finished their outfits they took their models into the Rodial glam room. We discussed their ideas and I helped them select the best Rodial products to create their looks, it was really fun to see everything come together!
The catwalk was super exciting! Fabio was the winner of the challenge and I LOVED his look. He took the inspiration of ‘Snake’ and created a really innovative outfit. As part of his prize he received a year’s supply of Rodial products – I hope he loves them!
Next stop LA! Keep an eye on my Instagram stories to see what I am getting up to and for all the outfits!
My latest trip to New York was THE busiest yet! With back to back meetings, events and taking time to catch up with my US team it was a really inspiring trip and I came back feeling excited and full of new ideas for the year ahead.
Here’s what I got up to…
I was so excited to host the US book launch of How to be an Overnight Success in a Q&A with the gorgeous Alexa Chung. She looked stunning on the night and it was a great way to launch my book in the US. For the event I wore an Alexander Wang jumpsuit with Isabel Marant belt and Balenciaga pumps. Afterwards I hosted an intimate dinner to catch up with some of the people who have helped me along the way to get the book to where it is now.
I did my first ever America talk show on the Build Series New York, talking about beauty, business and my book. For this appearance I wore a black tailored blazer and trousers from Wardrobe NYC. This was a really different experience for me but I loved it and look forward to doing more appearances in the future.
It was great to meet mega babe Solange Knowles at the Stuart Weitzman event. We bonded over my love of her Loewe obi belt, she has given me major outfit inspiration! For this look I wore some of my favourite new pieces, leather trousers from Marissa Webb, Off-White belt and A.W.A.K.E top with my new Gabriela Hearst bag.
I finished off the week by speaking at the Simply NYC conference. I always love sharing my story and encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs in their own journeys.
I had enough time to meet some of the bloggers and sign their books before heading off to the Christian Siriano show where I wore a Calvin Klein check jacket with a Balenciaga clutch.
I am back in London for fashion week before heading to LA for another exciting trip! Don’t forget to check out my Instagram stories for all the behind the scenes action…
I am so honoured to be featured on the cover of the Wardrobe Icons beauty issue! This is a big moment for me and highlights how far I have come to get where I am today.
I met Petro and Laura a while ago at a dinner and we hit it off immediately. When they asked me to do a shoot for the magazine I was really excited to be involved as I love their aesthetic. This shoot was different to anything that I have done before and a great opportunity to try something new.
Starting and running a business is not for the faint at heart. The only reason I am where I am today is that I didn’t give up & have a solid team around me who stuck with me through thick and thin & didn’t give up on me either. We have all gone through challenges and successes together. Success is all about sticking with it, whatever it takes.
On a lighter note it was great to be able to wear some of my favourite Balenciaga and Celine pieces and shoot at home with the team in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I love the styling of the looks!
The next month is crazy with fashion weeks and flying out to NYC and LA, this is the most exciting time of the year for me. Don’t forget to check out my Instagram to see what I am wearing!
I had an amazing time at the Fashion Awards on Monday evening. I love working with the British Fashion Council and the awards are a great night for connecting with friends, meeting new people and getting major outfit inspiration!
I walked the red carpet with my favourite designer David Koma who was also sitting on my table. It was hard to pick my favourite outfit to wear from his collection but I LOVE the details on this dress and wore it with a pair of Prada shoes. I wore my hair pulled back with a smokey eye for a polished look that showed off my outfit.
I had so much fun on the table catching up with my guests. It was great to see fashion icons such as Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell up on stage during the ceremony and I was really happy to see Adwoa Aboah win the Model of the Year award. I loved her outfit!
I also got to meet my fashion inspiration Christine Centenera who looked stunning in her dress!
Thank you to the BFC for an incredible awards, I can’t wait for the next one! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to see what else I am up to in the lead up to Christmas.
