Project Runway All Stars

I have been so excited to share the news that I would be appearing as a guest mentor on Project Runway All Stars. The episode I feature in aired on Lifetime TV in the US on 1st February and is available on iTunes for US accounts. Rodial are the make-up partner of the whole season and I have always followed the show so this was a really fun and different experience for me!

At the beginning of the episode I gave each designer an envelope with a product or phrase that related to Rodial’s hero products. Their challenge was to create a high fashion look that celebrated a woman’s inner superhero and come up with a super power for her inspired by their Rodial product.

The designers only had one day to make their outfits so the pressure was on! I visited them in the workroom to see how they were getting on, I love mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs so enjoyed seeing their work and giving my feedback. Seeing their interpretations was also really inspiring, it’s always great to see a fresh perspective on our products.

Once the designers had finished their outfits they took their models into the Rodial glam room. We discussed their ideas and I helped them select the best Rodial products to create their looks, it was really fun to see everything come together!

The catwalk was super exciting! Fabio was the winner of the challenge and I LOVED his look. He took the inspiration of ‘Snake’ and created a really innovative outfit. As part of his prize he received a year’s supply of Rodial products – I hope he loves them!

Next stop LA! Keep an eye on my Instagram stories to see what I am getting up to and for all the outfits!

My latest trip to New York was THE busiest yet! With back to back meetings, events and taking time to catch up with my US team it was a really inspiring trip and I came back feeling excited and full of new ideas for the year ahead.

Here’s what I got up to…

I was so excited to host the US book launch of How to be an Overnight Success in a Q&A with the gorgeous Alexa Chung. She looked stunning on the night and it was a great way to launch my book in the US. For the event I wore an Alexander Wang jumpsuit with Isabel Marant belt and Balenciaga pumps. Afterwards I hosted an intimate dinner to catch up with some of the people who have helped me along the way to get the book to where it is now.

I did my first ever America talk show on the Build Series New York, talking about beauty, business and my book. For this appearance I wore a black tailored blazer and trousers from Wardrobe NYC. This was a really different experience for me but I loved it and look forward to doing more appearances in the future.

It was great to meet mega babe Solange Knowles at the Stuart Weitzman event. We bonded over my love of her Loewe obi belt, she has given me major outfit inspiration! For this look I wore some of my favourite new pieces, leather trousers from Marissa Webb, Off-White belt and A.W.A.K.E top with my new Gabriela Hearst bag.

I finished off the week by speaking at the Simply NYC conference. I always love sharing my story and encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs in their own journeys.

I had enough time to meet some of the bloggers and sign their books before heading off to the Christian Siriano show where I wore a Calvin Klein check jacket with a Balenciaga clutch.

Wardrobe Icons Shoot

I am so honoured to be featured on the cover of the Wardrobe Icons beauty issue! This is a big moment for me and highlights how far I have come to get where I am today.

I met Petro and Laura a while ago at a dinner and we hit it off immediately. When they asked me to do a shoot for the magazine I was really excited to be involved as I love their aesthetic. This shoot was different to anything that I have done before and a great opportunity to try something new.

Starting and running a business is not for the faint at heart. The only reason I am where I am today is that I didn’t give up & have a solid team around me who stuck with me through thick and thin & didn’t give up on me either. We have all gone through challenges and successes together. Success is all about sticking with it, whatever it takes.

On a lighter note it was great to be able to wear some of my favourite Balenciaga and Celine pieces and shoot at home with the team in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I love the styling of the looks!

The next month is crazy with fashion weeks and flying out to NYC and LA, this is the most exciting time of the year for me. Don’t forget to check out my Instagram to see what I am wearing!

The Fashion Awards 2017

I had an amazing time at the Fashion Awards on Monday evening. I love working with the British Fashion Council and the awards are a great night for connecting with friends, meeting new people and getting major outfit inspiration!

The Fashion Awards 2017 In Partnership With Swarovski - Red Carpet Arrivals

I walked the red carpet with my favourite designer David Koma who was also sitting on my table. It was hard to pick my favourite outfit to wear from his collection but I LOVE the details on this dress and wore it with a pair of Prada shoes. I wore my hair pulled back with a smokey eye for a polished look that showed off my outfit.

I had so much fun on the table catching up with my guests. It was great to see fashion icons such as Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney and Naomi Campbell up on stage during the ceremony and I was really happy to see Adwoa Aboah win the Model of the Year award. I loved her outfit!

I also got to meet my fashion inspiration Christine Centenera who looked stunning in her dress!

Thank you to the BFC for an incredible awards, I can’t wait for the next one! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to see what else I am up to in the lead up to Christmas.

The secret to Kim Kardashian’s plump pout…

Since working with Kylie Jenner as the brand ambassador of Nip+Fab a few years ago, I’ve always remained close to the Kardashian/Jenner family, continually working with them over the years, so I was super excited to see Kim Kardashian using the Rodial dragon’s blood lip masks over the weekend.

Kim Kardashian - Full pout - Rodial dragon's blood lip masks

Kim is looking amazing at the moment; I’m obsessed with her ice blonde hair and forever-flawless makeup, so it was great to see she’s a fan of our dragon’s blood lip masks for the ultimate plump pout prep!

As one of the newest additions to Rodial’s best-selling dragon’s blood collection, the lip masks hydrate and plump the lips for an effect that lasts 48 hours. I personally use them once a week and I see a 30% increase in lip volume – they’re an essential in my skincare regime.

The September Issues

Last week I had a shoot with new magazine The September Issues. I am SO excited about this magazine as it is created by, and about, inspiring women. As I talk about in my book this is something I am very passionate about and I am super happy to be involved!

The team let me have a sneak peek at the first issue before we started shooting…

It’s that time again…NYFW

Outfits deliberated, shoe options sorted and of course, my travel beauty essentials packed, it was time to head back to New York as the most fashionable month of the year kicked off in style with the first fashion week of the season.

Fashion week may seem like the epitome of glamour filled with fashion shows, parties, shopping and VIP dinners, but in-between all of this I am catching up with my US team and fitting in as many meetings as I can!

My fashion week highlights…

Fashion Media Awards

Attended by the likes of Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian and model-of-the-moment Kaia Gerber, the Daily Front Row’s 5th Annual Fashion Media Awards celebrated fashions biggest icons from models, business people, innovators and brands.

What I wore…Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - Supreme Louis Vuitton Bag - NYFW

New York is the perfect place to step outside of your fashion comfort zone and experiment with new looks. As you may know, the classic, ‘all black everything’ perfectly describes my signature style, however I was obsessed with this all-over silver sequin dress by Vetements, with its backless detailing. Paired with pink Balenciaga sock boots and a contrasting deep red lip, this look was miles apart from my usual black uniform, and I loved it! Dare I say it…brights are the new black!

Business of Fashion 500 Gala Dinner

Whilst I have learnt to love experimenting with colour, it’s nice to bring it back to classic black and play with textures and silhouettes, which is exactly what I did for the Business of Fashion 500 Gala Dinner. I’m obsessed with this black lace Off White top with shoulder pad detailing, paired with my favourite lace up Saint Laurent heels. I wanted to keep my hair and makeup super simple to compliment this look.Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - Business of Fashion 500 Gala Dinner - New York Fashion week - 2017 - Saint Laurent Heels - Off White top

Christian Siriano Show

A celebration of diversity, the runway at the Christian Siriano show saw a flurry of colour, florals and extreme silhouettes.

What I wore…Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - Christian Siriano- New York Fashion week - 2017 - Supreme Louis Vuitton

Pairing a basic dress with some statement, must-have accessories, the bright red Louis Vuitton X Supreme satchel bag provided the perfect pop of colour to this otherwise monochrome outfit.

I’m now back in London and ready for another fashion week. I love getting inspired from the catwalks, so keep an eye on my Instagram and Insta stories as I check out what my favourite designers have coming up for the next season…

Overnight Success hits Asia…

As my first ever book, ‘How to be an overnight success,’ became the number one bestseller on Amazon, I jetted of to Hong Kong for the start of my Asian book tour. As you’ll know if you’ve read Overnight Success, as I reach one goal, I am already onto the next. There’s no stopping a girl boss!

Speaking to the top editors, bloggers, makeup artists and influencers of Hong Kong, including the Editor or Elle and Beauty Director of Harpers Bazaar, it was great to introduce my book to a whole new audience.

What I wore…

Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - Balenciaga Jacket - Celine Mules - Hong Kong

It was all about power dressing for the first stop of my Asian book tour, pairing my new Balenciaga blazer with Celine mules and adding a edge with my Off White belt.

I am now in Hong Kong for a few days introducing the eastern market to our new Rodial launches, have you seen the new Rose Gold collection? I’m obsessed.

Next stop…Tokyo.

Rodial makeup pop-up at Selfridges

You may have seen on my social media, but I am super excited to announce that the Rodial makeup pop-up has landed in the Selfridges flagship Oxford Street store…

Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - Selfridges Oxford Street pop up - London - Off White Jacket

A huge milestone for Rodial, the eye-catching pop-up is situated in the Beauty Workshop amongst other cult beauty brands, showcasing our new signature looks campaign.

When I first created Rodial makeup, I wanted to be able to offer products that could quickly enhance and sculpt the face for an easy flawless look. Our signature looks campaign, which I have been working on with my creative team for months, (check out my BTS blog post) showcases that perfectly. Consisting of 4 key looks for the ultimate on-the-go, yet ultra-glamorous woman; the sun-seeker, trail-blazer, jet-setter and wanderlust. Each look is easily achievable with 3 simple steps; prep, enhance and sculpt, and colour and intensify.

I’m not going to go into too much detail – you’ll have to visit the pop-up to see for yourself and enjoy a complimentary makeover with one of our fabulous makeup artists.

Stay up-to-date on my Instagram and stories over the next four weeks, as I’ll be heading over to Selfridges for lots of super exciting master classes and blogger events we have planned at the pop-up…

Back to NYC…

Last week I travelled to New York for a busy week full of press meetings to discuss my new book, which will be available to buy on in the US from next week. I also managed to fit in some shopping around my busy schedule…when in New York!

Maria Hatzistefanis - Mrs Rodial - How to be an overnight success - New York

It’s essential for me to take a great selection of shoes with me when I go away on business trips. From comfortable and chic to ultra glam, I always build my outfits starting with shoes so these are the most important items in my suitcase. I always like to have a few options so New York was the perfect place to add to my collection with a new pair of to-die-for Celine mules, I’m obsessed!

My family flew over to join me at the end of the trip and I got to spend some quality time with them before heading back to London for another busy week in the office with lots of exciting things to come.
